Kander and Ebb's musical The Rink opened at Southwark Playhouse last night and guests including Bonnie Langford, John Partridge and Mazz Murray were on hand to help the company celebrate.

Directed by Adam Lenson, Caroline O'Connor and Gemma Sutton play mother and daughter Anna and Angel alongside a cast that also includes Stewart Clarke, Ross Dawes, Michael Lin, Elander Moore, Ben Redfern and Jason Winter.

The piece has choreography by Fabian Aloise, musical direction by Joe Bunker, set design by Bec Chippendale, costume design by Libby Todd, lighting design by Matt Daw and sound design by Mike Thacker for Orbital.

In his four-star review for WhatsOnStage, Matt Trueman said: 'It's layered tender and deft… a study in nostalgia.'
