The world première for the touring production of The Mousetrap will be held at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre on 11 September next year. Announcement of his tour of the Agatha Christie whodunit came on the anniversary of its 60th year in London’s West End.

Its producers have promised an all-star cast for the mystery, which is the world’s longest running stage production. Each star performer will tour for 12 weeks. Tickets are already on sale in Canterbury for the short 11 to 15 September 2012 run.

The theatre’s director Mark Everett is delighted with this programming coup. “The Marlowe will make theatrical history”, he said: “This is a major event for us and, judging by ticket sales over the weekend, our audiences are as excited as we are. And, of course, no one here will dare give the game away about whodunit!”.
