Showbiz legend Tommy Steele and X Factor singer Niki Evans are two of the stars adding a touch of musical magic to the new season of shows announced for His Majesty’s Theatre,Aberdeen for the Autumn/Winter season.
Steele returns to the title role of the Leslie Bricusse version of Scrooge and Evans leads the cast of Blood Brothers. The Blues Brothers and Footloose complete the musical line up, joining previously announced Hairspray, Spamalot and We Will Rock You.
Alan Bennett‘s award-winning play The History Boys makes a return visit to the city in February and later in the season a Perth Theatre production of Death Of A Salesman.
One of the highlights of the Aberdeen theatre year is the annual Lord Provost’s Variety Show (October 15 and 16) raising funds for good causes, and this year, Calendar Girls star Elaine C Smith heads the bill, along with Steve Robertson and George Donald of Scotland the What?, Fiona Kennedy and Aberdeen panto favourites Alan McHugh and Jordan Young.
