Here’s a great chance to relive one of the most popular films of the noughties
You've watched it on the telly a dozen times, but now you can see Bridget Jones sliding down the fireman's pole and turning up to a party inappropriately dressed, back on the big screen complete with a live orchestra.
In November, Bridget Jones's Diary – based on the novel of the same by Helen Fielding and starring Renée Zellweger in the title role – will tour to Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham and Manchester with a 60-piece orchestra performing Patrick Doyle's score as the film is screened.
Released in 2001, the film follows the neurotic 32 year-old Londoner Bridget Jones and her love triangle with her boss (played by Hugh Grant) and a disagreeable acquaintance (Colin Firth). It has since grossed over $280million worldwide, saw Zellweger receive an Academy Award nomination and spawned two sequels.
This latest announcement follows similar treatments of movies including Harry Potter, Love Actually, Beauty and the Beast and La La Land.
