Bette & Joan head for Darlington!

Anita Dobson (Eastenders) and Greta Scacchi (The Ebony Tower) will appear in Bette and Joan at the Darlington Civic Theatre from Tuesday 27 March until Saturday 31 March.

Written by Anton Burge, the comedy highlights the infamous rivalry between Bette Davis (Scacchi) and Joan Crawford (Dobson) which came to boiling point after a 30 years feud.

Both their careers had hit rock bottom when they were paired together for the filming of the now classic film Whatever Happened To Baby Jane? but following the film’s success they were suddenly propelled back to stardom…but did they ever speak to each other again?
