Sara Bareilles' musical Waitress will invite audiences up to the stage to sing live in the first of the show's London Cast Album Karaokes.

The events, which allow audiences to sign up ahead of the shows on 19 February and 18 March, will see people coming onstage to sing one minute from a song from Waitress. They will be accompanied by the musical director Katharine Woolley.

The hosts for the Cast Album Karaoke on 19 February will be Denise Van Outen and the show's star Katharine McPhee, accompanied by Woolley. Further details are yet to be announced for the 18th March.

The piece opens in the West End in previews from 8 February, with opening night on 7 March at the Adelphi Theatre. McPhee will make her West End debut starring in the lead role of Jenna, having played the part on Broadway earlier this year. It was also recently announced that Marisha Wallace will play Becky alongside Laura Baldwin as Dawn, with Peter Hannah as Earl and David Hunter as Dr Pomatter.

The show follows a waitress and pie maker, who crafts desserts that mirror her turbulent life.

Waitress Cast Album Karaoke nights began in September 2016 in America, with the musical's writer Bareilles also appearing for them. The show also recently announced it would be extending to 19 October.
