Waitress extends dates in the West End
Broadway star Katharine McPhee plays Jenna in the London production
Waitress is to extend its run in the West End, it has been announced.
The show, which is about to open in previews, has music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson. It's based on the film by Adrienne Shelly about a waitress in a diner who dreams of a life away from her rocky marriage and pours her heart into the pies she bakes.
Katharine McPhee stars as Jenna, while Jack McBrayer is Ogie, Marisha Wallace is Becky, Laura Baldwin is Dawn, Peter Hannah is Earl, David Hunter is Dr Pomatter and Shaun Prendergast is Old Joe.
The full company also includes Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Michael Hamway, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O'Connor, Leanne Pinder, Charlotte Riby, and Mark Willshire.
There will be a number of Cast Album Karaoke nights throughout the run in London where theatre lovers will be able to come onstage and sing one minute of any song with the show's musical director.
The show is directed by Diane Paulus, with choreography from Lorin Latarro. Waitress' opening night is 7 March.
