Royal Court hosts four performances of The Duke for charity
The Royal Court is to stage four performances for charity of the new show from Shon Dale-Jones, artistic director of Hoipolloi.
Following from the announcement that the Unicorn will stage the show for charity, performances of The Duke at the Royal Court will take place 28 to 30 November. They will be free, with a collection made for Save the Children's Refugee Crisis Appeal.
The Duke is the latest creation from Dale-Jones, who has also worked on a series of shows featuring his alter-ego Hugh Hughes. The play mixes fantasy and reality and takes the audience on a journey that links the refugee crisis, a film project and the breaking of a porcelain figure of The Duke of Wellington.
The show is an hour long and will be staged in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs before EV Crowe's The Sewing Group.
The Duke runs at the Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh from 3 to 29 August, at the Royal Court from 28 to 30 November and at Plymouth Theatre Royal 27 September to 1 October. Free dates are also running at the Unicorn Theatre between 7 September and 17 November.
