Mazz Murray to star as Mama Morton in Chicago with Martin Kemp

Mazz Murray is to take on the role of Mama Morton in the current West End run of Chicago.

Murray joins the cast as Martin Kemp replaces Cuba Gooding Jr in the show. The two join Sarah Soetaert, Josefina Gabrielle and Paul Rider as Roxie Hart, Velma Kelly and Amos Hart respectively.

Murray's previous credits include Killer Queen in We Will Rock You, Tanya in Mamma Mia!, Mabel in Fame and Grandma Bertha in Pippin.

Kemp performs with the London production of Chicago until 2 September and the rest of the current lead cast staying until 11 August.

A new batch of tickets has been released from today, with tickets available from 8 October to 5 January.

The musical is Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-winning show about a young woman, Roxie, who is incarcerated and put on trial for murdering a man in her bedroom. The recent run opened on 12 April this year at the Phoenix Theatre.
