Jude Law and Sophie Ellis-Bextor to star in Lyric Hammersmith fundraiser
The one-off Lyric Fest celebrates the life-changing work done by the venue to help young people
The evening will be a celebration of all the work done by the Lyric and its associated organisations in changing the lives of young people, especially those with a passion for the arts and creativity, across London and beyond.
Curated by the Lyric's artistic director Sean Holmes and hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Lyric alumni, writer and Benidorm star Nathan Bryon, the one-off special on 24 September will also feature performances from Joe Stilgoe, Vikki Stone and Deanna Rodger alongside the Lyric's young artists.
The Lyric's START programme, helping vulnerable people struggling to engage with education, employment or training, celebrated its tenth birthday this year.
Artistic director Sean Holmes said: "This gala celebrates the unique vision of the Lyric as a home to the highest quality theatre and the best inspirational work with young people. At the centre of this, in a splendid showcase of his acting mettle - Jude Law will perform in six two character mini plays written by our young writers."
Lyric Fest runs on 24 September at the Lyric Hammersmith.
