George Maguire to appear in Godspell concert

Sunny Afternoon's George Maguire will join the line up for the Godspell concert gala in Covent Garden later this month.

Maguire won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the 2015 Olivier Awards, and will join the previously confirmed Kerry Ellis, Ramin Karimloo and Preeya Kalidas.

Dominic Andersen, who appeared in Richard O'Brien's Rock Horror Show, has also been added to the line up.

Directed by Dean Johnson, the concerts will take place at St Paul's Church on 30 and 31 August, with an extra matinee added for the Wednesday afternoon (though Ellis and Karimloo have not been confirmed for this performance).

They will be joined by an ensemble of young performers to launch The British Theatre Academy, whose production of The Secret Garden runs at the Ambassadors Theatre until 31 August.

Godspell runs at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden on 30 and 31 August 2016.
