Edward Fox, Freddie Fox and Frances Barber to star in An Ideal Husband at the Vaudeville
The latest casting for the Classic Spring season has been announced
Real life father and son Edward and Freddie Fox are to play fictional father and son in the production of An Ideal Husband from Classic Spring. Frances Barber will also star in the show as Mrs Cheveley.
Fox senior is to play the Earl of Caversham, while Fox junior will play Lord Goring. The production which will be directed by Jonathan Church from 20 April
The comedy was originally written in 1895 and takes place over the course of 24 hours in London high society where an ambitious government minister is blackmailed.
The Classic Spring season has been programmed by the previous artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe Dominic Dromgoole, and has so far included revivals of Lady Windermere's Fan and A Woman of No Importance. Simon Callow also performed an adaptation of Wilde's long letter De Profundis. The Importance of Being Earnest is due to run at the Vaudeville from 20 July.
An Ideal Husband runs from 3 May to 14 July with previews from 20 April.
