Fantastic Mr Fox to return to London this summer

Maria Aberg’s production of Roald Dahl’s story has original songs by Arthur Darvill

Following a UK tour, Maria Aberg's production of Fantastic Mr Fox will return to the Lyric Hammersmith this summer.

Roald Dahl's story has been adapted by Sam Holcroft, and the production features original songs by Doctor Who and Broadchurch actor Arthur Darvill.

Greg Barnett plays the titular character who hatches a plan to outsmart his farmer neighbours in order to feed his friends and family.

The cast of the London run will also include Richard Atwill, Patrick Burbidge, Jade Croot, Lillie Flynn, Sandy Foster, Gruffudd Glyn, Richie Hart, Thomas Hewitt, Edward Hole, Kelly Jackson and Tanya Shields.

In his review for WhatsOnStage, Matt Trueman said: "Set to an eclectic Arthur Darvill songbook, Holcroft's adaptation extends Dahl's fable into a fully-fledged plot."
