US play Afterglow is to receive its UK premiere this June at Southwark Playhouse.

S Asher Gelman's play, which will be directed by Tom O'Brien, follows what happens when Josh and Alex, a married couple in an open relationship, invite a third person to share their bed one night.

The show originally opened at the Davenport Theater and ran for 14 months, grossing over $1 million in the 69-seat theatre.

O'Brien's credits include Fabric at the Marlowe Theatre, Our Friends, The Enemy on UK tour and Dogs of War at the Old Red Lion Theatre. Gelman's other work includes Safeword and is currently producing Off-Broadway musical We Are The Tigers.

The piece will open in previews on 5 June and run to 20 July, with a press night on 11 June.
