Tamara Harvey has announced her latest season as artistic director of Theatr Clwyd in Mold.

Harvey will direct the first show in the season, which is a production of David Hare's Skylight from 9 Feburary to 4 March. The three-hander tells the story of Kyra, who is visited by her former lover, who turns her life upside down. Carey Mulligan starred in the 2014 West End revival.

Elsewhere in the season, Clwyd will host the world premiere of the previously announced Uncle Vanya. Adapted by writer and director Peter Gill, the show will run in Wales before moving to Sheffield's Crucible Theatre to feature in Robert Hastie's first season as artistic director of Sheffield Theatres.

Jack Thorne's recently announced Junkyard will run between 29 March and 15 April. The new musical is about a bunch of teenagers in Bristol in 1979 who agree to build a junk playground.

Lucy Rivers' Sinners Club will also run as part of the new season. The play is inspired by the last woman to be hanged in Britain, Ruth Ellis. The production opens at The Other Room in Cardiff before arriving in Mold.

Alongside Skylight, there will be another revival in the season – Richard Fitch directs The Importance of Being Earnest which will open on May 4. Colette Kane's Scarlett will run between 28 March and 15 April and will be directed by Mel Hillyard. The new comedy is about 40 year-old Scarlett who sets off from London for a weekend in Wales in search of a holiday home.

Harvey said: "Our new season is a heady mix of new and old, the personal and the political, and sees us collaborating with some of the most exciting artists and companies in the UK. Now more than ever is a time to be reaching across borders and as the cultural gateway between England and Wales."
