Tommy Steele makes a festive return

Bill Kenwright’s critically acclaimed touring production of Scrooge makes a return to the region in just over a week when it appears at Liverpool’s Empire theatre.
Continuing in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge is the legendary British entertainer Tommy Steele, whose performances at the London Palladium in Scrooge sent him into the record books as the star to have headlined the most performances at London’s famous theatre.

A prestigious plaque was mounted at the Palladium to honour this extraordinary achievement.

Steele’s career includes over twenty hit singles, Hollywood movie hits such as The Happiest Millionaire and Finian’s Rainbow, and countless award-winning stage musicals such as Half a Sixpence, Hans Andersen and Singing in the Rain.

Adapted from Charles Dickens’ 1843 novel, A Christmas Carol, Scrooge is a heartwarming family story with stunning sets and costumes and specially created illusions by magician Paul Kieve, who’s acclaimed for the magic effects in the Harry Potter films, and a fantastic musical score which features the Oscar nominated hit ‘Thank You Very Much’.

Scrooge opens at the Empire on Monday 23 November and runs until Saturday 28 November. Tickets cost £9.50-£35. Call the box office on 0844 847 2525.
