Columnist Baz Bamigboye says that after the show’s success at the Haymarket, it was originally aiming to transfer directly to the Gielgud Theatre, with Antony Sher taking over as Vladimir. But Sher is also no longer available as he’s heading to Sheffield to lead An Enemy of the People, Daniel Evans’ first production as artistic director at the Crucible, where that opens in February (See News, 23 Sep 2009).
