McCarthy & Wilson join Bathurst in West End-bound Blue/Orange

By • West End
Gerard McCarthy and Oliver Wilson have joined the previously announced Robert Bathurst to complete the cast of Blue/Orange, the second show in Theatre Royal Brighton Productions’ inaugural season. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the revival of Joe Penhall’s Olivier Award-winning play will tour nationally from 13 September 2012, before transferring to the West End (dates and venue tbc).

The play centres on a young patient (Wilson) who is convinced that a notorious military dictator is his father. Bruce (McCarthy), a junior psychiatric doctor wants to do further tests and plan longer care. Robert (Bathurst), a senior consultant, wants to thrust him back into the community. A compelling and witty battle of freedom and ambition unfolds.

Gerard McCarthy’s stage credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor at The Globe, The Miser at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and Call Me Lee at the New End Theatre.

Oliver Wilson’s stage credits include Emperor and Galilean and All’s Well That Ends Well at the National Theatre, Romeo and Juliet at the Pilot Theatre, York/National Tour, To Kill A Mockingbird at Theatr Clywd/National Tour and Much Ado About Nothing for Derby Live.
