1st Night Photos: Girls On Top at Trafalgar Studios
The Chichester Festival revival of Caryl Churchill’s seminal feminist play Top Girls has transferred to the West End’s Trafalgar Studios 1, where it opened earlier this week (16 August 2011, previews from 11 August) for a limited season to 15 October 2011.
A co-production with Out of Joint, Top Girls is helmed by the company’s artistic director Max Stafford Clark, who returns to the play after directing its 1982 world premiere at the Royal Court, which he ran from 1979 to 1993.
The cast comprises Suranne Jones (as Marlene), Catherine McCormack, Stella Gonet, Lucy Briers, Olivia Poulet, Laura Elphinstone and Lisa Kerr, who were all on fittingly top form on opening night.
