Will You Run with Nuns for Sister Act???

Not yet made plans for this bank holiday weekend? Do check out Sister Act’s “fun nun run” on Sunday if you’re in town (See The Goss, 26 Feb 2009). If you’re feeling energetic, you can still sign up to take part – be quick, the final deadline for entries is today (Wednesday 29 April 2009) – but either way, it’s sure to be a good laugh, and a great photo opp.

The producers of Sister Act musical, which starts previews at the London Palladium on 7 May (See News, 7 Nov 2008), have teamed up with children’s charity Barnardos to organise the four-mile charity race. The event involves, as you’ve probably guessed, dressing up in a nun’s outfit and running a course around central London.

On the day registration begins at 10.30am with the celebrity starter gun fired at 11.30am. The course commences and finishes at Dunster Court off Fenchurch Street, EC3 in the City of London, and takes in a host of landmarks including Tower Bridge, the Tate Modern and St Paul’s Cathedral.

And for those worried about sourcing the appropriate clothing, fear not – the entry fee of £20 includes a nun costume. Which is a relief, as no one likes bad habits. Runners who register online will also be entered into a prize draw to win one of 200 pairs of tickets to Sister Act.
