The Bodyguard extends booking at Adelphi until 28 Sep

Whatsonstage.com Award-nominated musical The Bodyguard, adapted from the hit 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, has extended booking at the Adelphi Theatre until 28 September 2013.

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the show features classic Whitney songs including “One Moment in Time”, “Saving All
My Love”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I Will Always Love You”.

It centres on a former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer (Lloyd Owen – to 7 September), who is hired to
protect singing superstar Rachel Marron (Heather Headley – to 10 August) from an unknown stalker. Each expects to
be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love.

The Bodyguard has a book is by Alex Dinelaris, designs by Tim Hatley, lighting by
Mark Henderson and sound by Richard Brooker. Choreography is by
Arthur Pita, orchestrations by Chris Egan and musical supervision by
Mike Dixon. It is produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian.

Also in the cast are Debbie Kurup (Nicki Marron), Mark Letheren (The Stalker), Ray Shell
(Bill Devaney), Nicolas Colicos (Tony Scibelli), Mark McKerracher (Herb
Farmer), Sean Chapman (Sy Spector), David Page  (Rory Fryman) and Oliver
Le Sueur (Ray Court).

The Bodyguard opened on 5 December 2012 (previews from 6 November) and was initially booking until 27 April 2013.

The Bodyguard is currently nominated for six Whatsonstage.com Awards, with voting continuing until 31 January at Whatsonstage.com/Awards
