Legendary Les Miserables and Miss Saigon writer Alain Boublil has his new show Manhattan Parisienne open at The Other Palace this week in a work-in-progress staging in the venue's studio space.

We popped into rehearsals and spoke to Boublil and director Bruce Guthrie about the piece, which made its debut at 59E59 Theaters in New York in 2014. This London production will feature a new song called "About Love", which you can hear in the video. The song is written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Boublil.

Manhattan Parisienne is a New York-set love story about two struggling artists - one a Parisienne actress and singer, the other a Manhattan musician.

Cast for the show includes Noa Bodner as Adam's Mom/Waitress; Richard Emerson as Teddy/Agent; Douglas Hansell as Paul/Gareth; James Lailey as Busker; Orlando Seale as Gerard; Gabriel Vick as Adam and Marie Zamora as Eve.

Manhattan Parisienne runs at The Other Palace until 21 October.
