Two new musicals will receive premieres at The Other Palace after being discovered during the venue's Pitch Days earlier this year.

Spilt Milk by Jacob Dorrell, Tom Ling, Adam Dickinson and Jennifer Hague, is inspired by the east London Cereal Killer Cafe and 2015 Shoreditch riots. It has an indie-pop-rock score and explores themes of belonging in an ever-gentrified east London.

Susannah Pearse and Tim Connor's new musical Ever Onward is based on Sutton Vane's play Outward Bound. It is set on board a cruise ship in the autumn of 1924 as Britain mourns loved ones lost in the First World War.

Pitch Days is a new initiative at The Other Palace which offers artists and creative teams the chance to show 20 minutes of their work to artistic director Paul Taylor Mills and The Other Palace programming team.

On the two new shows, Taylor Mills said: "I am thrilled that, within the first six months of operating, we have been able to find two brilliant new musicals to support and develop. This is at the heart of what we want to achieve at The Other Palace and I'm looking forward to working with the teams behind these two new projects."

Spilt Milk and Ever Onward will have 'Work in Progress' performances on 11 August and 24 November respectively.
