Glam-rock musical Rock of Ages looks set to return to the stage next year after the show's Twitter account shared a video exclaiming: "Here we go again".

The show premiered on Broadway in 2009 and was nominated for five Tony Awards. It transferred to the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2011 and the Garrick in 2013, and embarked on a UK tour in 2014.

The musical was also adapted for the big screen in 2012 with an all-star cast including Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston and Tom Cruise.

Rock of Ages has a book by Chris D'Arienzo and features classic rock songs from the '80s including "We Built This City", "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Don't Stop Believin'".

The original London cast included Oliver Tompsett, Simon Lipkin, Shane Ward, Nathan Amzi, Jodi Jacobs and Zizi Strallen.

A message on the show's website says: 'The award-winning smash hit will return in 2018.'
