The former economics editor of Channel 4 News Paul Mason is to star in a new show at the Young Vic.

The journalist will be directed by David Lan in Why It's Kicking Off Everywhere at the end of March over a three day run.

The show is inspired by revolution including the recent Arab Spring and the Occupy Movement as well as Trump's election. Seen through the eyes of Mason, audience participation will be a key part of the show and there will be a promenade element to the performances.

Joining Mason onstage will be Khalid Abdalla, Sirine Saba and Lara Sawalha. The show runs from 28 to 30 March and tickets are free and will be allocated by ballot. Click here to enter the ballot for tickets.

The show is a series of programmes for BBC Arts called Performance Live and the show will be filmed for broadcast on the BBC at a later date.

Mason has been economics editor for BBC Newsnight, and his play about the Paris Commune will run at the White Bear Theatre in April.
