Rudy's Rare Records actor Larrington Walker dies

Actor Larrington Walker died on the weekend, according to his agent Femi Oguns.

Walker was born in Jamaica in 1947 and came to England in 1956. He worked as a member of the RSC between 2008 and 2011.

His theatre roles include roles in The Playboy of the West Indies at the Tricycle Theatre, Stuff Happens at the National and Driving Miss Daisy at Oldham Theatre.

On TV he has appeared in The Bill, Inspector Morse, Human Traffic and most recently starred opposite Lenny Henry in Rudy's Rare Records on Radio 4 and in the stage adaptation at Hackney Empire.

His agent Oguns said on Twitter: "It's with a very heavy heart that I announce the angels have been called to bring my friend and client Sir Larrington Walker home. I know this great man has brought so much to the world and this will come as a great shock that those who know him. I feel so empty right now so emotional.

"My heart is with the family and friends. Thank you for all the great conversations filled with love guidance, wisdom and Laughter. My life will never be the same without you great sir as I'm sure with many others. It was the greatest honest to represent you. The greatest honour & privilege representing you. I will forever love you dearly. God bless you and the family."
