Indhu Rubasingham is to be the first guest editor of WhatsOnStage in a brand new initiative for the site.

The Tricycle Theatre's artistic director will guest edit the site for a week, between 26 and 30 June, and will commission interviews, videos, guest blogs and features.

It will be the first in a series of week-long guest edits, which take place on WhatsOnStage at regular intervals.

Rubasingham kicks off the first week with pieces from some of the most interesting names in the theatre industry.

The intention behind the initiative is to offer more theatre creatives the chance to produce pieces for the WhatsOnStage audience and bring their wealth of experience to people via the website.

Rubasingham said: "I am delighted and slightly nervous to be guest editing WhatsOnStage for a week in June. It’s been a great opportunity to think and create in a different way and bring a perspective to this wonderful website. I am really looking forward to sharing the pieces we have planned and to starting different dialogues about theatre today."

Sita McIntosh, WhatsOnStage COO commented: "I'm so pleased that Indhu is taking the reins of WOS for a week. Her inspiring work includes directing shows such as Red Velvet and Handbagged and running the exceptional Tricycle Theatre. It is really exciting that she will bring a little of that experience to the site."

Daisy Bowie-Sell, WhatsOnStage managing editor said: "Indhu is a brilliant and bright figure in the theatre industry and we have been really enjoying working with her on some excellent features over the last few weeks. The pieces she has commissioned are dynamic and entertaining and we can't wait to share them with the WOS readers."
