Full casting has been announced for the UK premiere of The Invisible Hand ahead of opening at the Tricycle Theatre next month.

Leading the cast as Nick will be Daniel Lapaine (The Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare's Globe, Hedda Gabler, Old Vic). He will be joined by Tony Jayawardena (Bend It Like Beckham, Phoenix Theatre) as Imam Saleem, Sid Sagar (The Oresteia, Shakespeare's Globe) as Dar and Parth Thakerar (King Charles III, UK tour) as Bashir.

Ayad Akhtar's political thriller explores the unrestricted power of global finance as it follows American banker Nick Bright, confined to a cell within the depths of rural Pakistan.

Directed by Tricycle's artistic director Indhu Rubasingham, the production marks the final show before the theatre closes for a £5.5 million capital development project.

The Invisible Hand runs at the Tricycle Theatre from 18 May to 2 July.
