I Can't Sing! was rushed to an early curtain call this weekend as it was confirmed the show will be pulled from the West End after just six weeks. But one producer has suggested that, with the incorporation of previous X Factor contestants, Harry Hill's musical comedy could be salvaged.

David King, a well known theatre producer, is said to be preparing to approach Simon Cowell and I Can't Sing! executives to pitch his ideas for improving the show, including cameos from previous X Factor contestants such as Mary Byrne, Jedward and Wagner.

Speaking to the Daily Star, King stated: "It was a major mistake not to include these singers. That would have guaranteed bums on seats. People like that combined with a musical about Simon would have worked really well."

He reportedly feels the show could be reworked as a UK tour. As of yet, neither Cowell or any of the contestants named have commented on the story; Syco Entertainment bosses have previously said there are no plans for I Can't Sing! to tour.

King added: "When it comes to TV, Simon is the man. But when it comes to musicals, he is clearly out of his comfort zone. The show needs tidying up, but it is not beyond redemption."
