X Factor musical I Can't Sing! will close at the London Palladium on 10 May 2014.

Harry Hill's show, which postponed its original opening date twice due to the complex set, received good reviews from critics after opening night on 26 March.

A statement was released this evening saying that producers Stage Entertainment and Syco Entertainment, Simon Cowell's company, have announced the closure.

CEO of Stage Entertainment, Rebecca Quigley, said: "The West End can be an unpredictable place as the closure of a number of high profile productions recently has shown. I Can’t Sing! has had audiences on their feet night after night, four and five star reviews from the critics and an amazing company and creative team, but it seems that isn’t always enough."

Nigel Hall of Syco Entertainment added thanks to the cast and crew of the show, as well as everyone at Really Useful Theatres and the London Palladium staff.

The show, which is directed by Sean Foley, includes in the cast Cynthia Erivo, Nigel Harman, Alan Morrissey, Simon Bailey, Simon Lipkin. It is designed by Es Devlin, with music and lyrics frmo Steve Brown.

Ticket holders with seats booked for after 10 May should contact their original point of purchase.
