The Big Bite Size Breakfast

This is an excellent way to begin a day at theFfringe. No matter how short your previous night’s sleep, this feast of five mini-plays (plus a coffee and a croissant) is a surefire pick-me-up.

The show’s content is formed of three menus, so there is scope to see these accomplished performers more than once. On the day I attended, I was presented with menu three, which consisted of three comic sketches and two more thoughtful pieces. Again, the variation in content and mood is appropriately balanced for early morning theatre viewing.

Of the five pieces, two stood out as being especially good: the monologue Thin Air performed by Alice Robinson and the comic sketch Thespian performed by Sean Williams and Andy Hutchinson. The Robinson piece about a tightrope walker is intense and touching whilst the comic duo set the audience laughing in their hilarious performance about a wannabe actor from Brooklyn.

This is definitely worth getting out of bed for!
