24:7 call for scripts

It may seem like yesterday since the last 24:7 Theatre festival in Manchester. The 24:7 Theatre Festival  but “Britain’s most exciting grassroots festival of new work” (Manchester Evening News) will shortly be accepting submissions for the 2010 Festival.

The seventh annual Festival will run from 26th July to the 1st August 2010, at New Century House, Manchester – home of sponsor, The Co-operative Group.

Scripts must be original, less than 60 minutes long, never produced before, and capable of being staged in non theatre spaces.

Each script is read by a panel of adjudicators and from a shortlist of twenty plays, ten will be invited to stage full productions, five will be mentored by North West Playwrights, and five will be given rehearsed readings during festival week. The 24:7 Theatre Festival aims to showcase talent: if you are not an established writer or have never submitted work before, this will not affect your chances.

Submissions for scripts will be accepted from now until the 14th January 2010. There is a non-refundable fee of £30 for each individual submission. Feedback is provided to every writer who submits
