Quick Questions: Louise Jameson and Janet Dibley - Women On The Verge.....

By • Northwest
Two of television’s most recognisable faces, Louise Jameson (Eastenders, Dr. Who, Bergerac, Tenko) and Janet Dibley (Fat Friends, Where the Heart is, The Two of Us), star in the side-splitting new production of Women on the verge of HRT

We caught up with them both for some quick questions about Marie Jones' comedy, currently touring the UK.

Louise, tell us a bit about the play
....
Well, as the title suggests, it's about two women. They are old friends and the action takes place in a hotel room following a Daniel O’Donnell concert. They end up discussing life, loves and start drinking, The dialogue is extremely funny an d during the second half they go on a surreal journey, also discussing life and love.

What attracted you both to the piece?
LJ:  Strong parts for women, brilliantly wittily written. And the chance to work with Janet Dibley.
JD:  Marie Jones' writing. Playing a Belfast woman.

Do you appreciate Daniel O’Donnell’s music more after playing fans of his?
JD: I understand more some women’s need to escape into another world- a world of romance, somewhere to escape harsh realities.
LJ: Probably not but I appreciate his fans more.

Why should people come and see Women On The Verge....?
LJ: For the crack! And bring you husbands too-they may learn something.
JD: To escape harsh realities- and share common worries and laugh at them.

Women on the verge of HRT
runs at the Lowry from Mon 22 June until Sat 27 June.
