Spring 2012 Season Launched at Plymouth

Theatre Royal, Plymouth have announced their spring 2012 season which sees West End shows Avenue Q, South Pacific, Sister Act and Oliver! and the world premiere of the new touring production of The Phantom of the Opera come to the town.

There are also two world premieres of Drum Theatre productions – Horse Piss For Blood is by Cornish writer and actor Carl Grose, whose previous plays have been performed in the Drum Theatre (most recently the critically acclaimed Grand Guignol) and in London at the National Theatre. He has written for BBC radio and TV, and is a writer and actor with Kneehigh. A History of Everything will also premiere in the Drum, and is a co-production with Ontroerend Goed, who recently performed the much talked about Audience at the Drum Theatre.

Quality drama comes with the critically acclaimed company Propeller, who are returning with Shakespeare’s Henry V and The Winter’s Tale after their hugely successful visit this year.

More details are available on the Theatre Royal’s website, and tickets for the entire season go on sale on Monday 5 December.
