Phillip's Midnight Tango Begins 2011 Tour at Mayflower

By • Southwest
Having dazzled television audiences for six series of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with their stunning tango routines, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace have now created their own live show, Midnight Tango - promising a “breathtaking evening bringing to life all the drama, sensuality and elegance of this most exciting of dance forms”. The show opens in Southampton at the Mayflower Theatre prior to a major UK Tour.

Midnight Tango is set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires. Vincent and Flavia will be joined by ten of the finest tango dancers in the world, and, between them, they will take the audience on a journey into the heart of this intoxicating city, as danger and excitement, joy and jealousy, pain and passion combine into a spectacular and explosive evening.

Flavia says, “Vincent and I have been performing since a very young age, all over the world and in ballrooms all around the United Kingdom. We have had only a small taster of performing on a stage this year and it was a thrilling experience. The fact that we can finally tour with our own Argentine tango show is so exciting, it's difficult to put into words how we feel. We hope that, as always, we will have amazing support all round the British Isles and we hope to bring a little passion into people’s lives...”

The nationwide tour is produced by Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel. According to Arlene, "Watching Vincent and Flavia performing their Argentine tango, I feel, is as thrilling as dance gets. They have thrilled audiences on Strictly Come Dancing, and their new theatre show is a great opportunity for people up and down the country to see them live and feel the excitement."

Midnight Tango opens at The Mayflower, Southampton 6 - 9 April 2011, then tours the UK.
