Elysium Perform for The Queen at Exeter Campus

The Elysium Theatre Company are to perform for Her Majesty The Queen at the upcoming University of Exeter Forum opening event, on 2nd May.

The company is giving a short collage performance as part of their RSC Open Stages project, The Wars of the Roses, which stages all 8 of Shakespeare’s medieval history plays. This extract piece will take the audience on a whirlwind journey spanning one hundred years of history. Moving from the melancholy elegance of Richard II, through the rebellions, victories and losses of the following plays, and finally into the dark brutality of Richard III, the production focuses on the enduring beauty, power and magnetism of Shakespeare’s language and of the historical period depicted in these plays.

Locals will have the opportunity to see this unique performance for free and view the exciting new development on campus, which is being officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen.
