Tovey & Winstone Star in New Golaszewski Play at Trafalgar
A three-hander, Sex With A Stranger follows Golazewski acclaimed one-man plays Stefan Golazewski Speaks About A Girl He Once Loved and Stefan Golaszewski is a Widower which have both been seen at the Edinburgh Fringe. The pair of monologues were also performed as a double bill, The Stefan Golaszewski Plays, at the Bush Theatre in 2009.
Sex With A Stranger sees Adam is stuck in a relationship rut. His over-protective girlfriend keeps him on a tight leash but his mate’s birthday is an opportunity to spend a few hours free of the ball and chain, until a chance meeting in a nightclub offers the opportunity of excitement and a test for Adam’s resolve. The play, directed by Phillip Breen, explores what happens when the ties that bind start to strangle us.
Also the a member of the comedy sketch group Cowards (Edinburgh Fringe, Radio 4, BBC 4), Golaszewski is currently writing his third series of BBC 3 comedy show Him & Her in which Russell Tovey also stars, alongside Sarah Solemani.
In addition to Him & Her, Tovey's screen credits include Being Human, Gavin & Stacey. A member of the original History Boys cast at the National Theatre, he followed the show to Broadway and Sydney and was also seen in the show's film adaptation.
Jaime Winstone has been seen on the big screen in Dagenham Girls and Donkey Punch. Her stage credits include The Fastest Clock in the Universe at Leicester Curve and the Hampstead Theatre. Naomi Sheldon was recently seen in Daisy Pulls it Off at the Lyric Hammersmith and Reclining Nude with Black Stockings at the Arcola.
Director Phillip Breen’s recent theatre credits include A Day in the Death of Joe Egg at the Glasgow's Citizens Theatre and Party at the Arts Theatre as well as directing Golaszewski in Edinburgh, New York and London.
