Lyn Paul returns to Blood Brothers for final two weeks

Ahead of Blood Brothers‘ West End closure on 10 November, from today (29 October), former cast members Lyn Paul, Warwick Evans, Mark Hutchinson, Jan Graveson and Sean Jones will rejoin the company for the final two weeks at the Phoenix theatre.

Leading the final cast is Lyn Paul, one of the show’s longest serving leading ladies, who made her debut over 16 years ago as Mrs Johnston and returns for the last two weeks. She replaces Vivienne Carlyle, who moves to the role of Mrs Lyons.

Original cast member Warwick Evans returns as The Narrator, and is joined by Mark Hutchinson and Jan Graveson, who accompanied Evans in London and co-starred with him on Broadway.

They are joined by Sean Jones as Micky, who has performed in Blood Brothers more than any of the aforementioned (though he is not quite as prolific as one of the current actors, Alex Harland, who has played The Postman over 4,000 times).

Blood Brothers was first seen as a comprehensive school production in Russell’s native Liverpool in 1981, before receiving a professional premiere at the Liverpool Playhouse and subsequent West End transfer to the Lyric Theatre, where it had a brief run, two years later.

In 1988, Bill Kenwright revived the musical to award-winning effect at the Albery Theatre, transferring it in January 1991 to the Phoenix Theatre, where it has been running ever since.
