David Walliams Joins Gambon in Pinter Play???

Katie Holmes is not the only star name making a theatrical debut this year. According to Baz Bamigboye writing in Friday’s Daily Mail, Little Britain actor and comedian David Walliams will join veteran actors Michael Gambon and David Bradley in a revival of Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land at the Gate Theatre in Dublin later this year. Walliams, who will play the part of the servant Foster, has never appeared in a straight play before so this is a huge step to play alongside such experienced classical actors. But his being a fan of Pinter’s work should only add to his enthusiasm.

Director Rupert Goold is attached to the production which starts performances in Dublin in August, after a rehearsal period in London. Artistic director of the Gate, Michael Colgan, is attached to produce along with London superpower Sonia Friedman who will transfer the show to the West End in the Autumn for a limited engagement. Is this the start of even bigger things for David Walliams???
