Casting: Goodman’s Chichester Arturo Ui

The Chichester Festival Theatre has
announced full casting for The Resistable Rise of
Arturo Ui
, which will be revived at the Minerva
Theatre from 11 to 28 July (previews from 29 June). CFT artistic
director Jonathan Church directs Bertolt Brecht‘s 1941 parable
about the rise of Hitler. As previously announced, Henry Goodman
will play the title role.

Joining the star, who played Sir
Humphrey Appleby in the 2010 CFT production of Yes, Prime
Minister
and its West End transfer, are Keith
Baxter
, Michael Feast,
William Gaunt and
Joe McGann. Lizzie
McInnerny
will be making her Chichester debut in the role of Betty
Dullfoot.

The
cast also includes Mark

Chichester
has also announced that Dennis Potter‘s Blue Remembered
Hills
will play at the Theatre on the Fly from 26 June to
14 July. Anna Ledwich directs.

Originally
written for television and screened in 1979, the play is set on a summer’s day during the
Second World War. It concerns a group of seven-year-olds (played by
adult actors) whose innocent play becomes tinged with darkness as the children begin to turn against one other. 

The
cast includes Gary Beadle, who is best known for playing the
character of Paul Trueman in EastEnders between
2001 and 2004. Also featured are Ryan
