Young Vic announces two returns & Hattie Morahan for A Doll’s House
Two of the Young Vic’s most popular recent studio shows are to return to The Cut later this year where they will be re-set in larger spaces.
Sound&Fury’s Going Dark graduates from the Clare to the Maria studio. Written by Hattie Naylor in collaboration with Sound&Fury and produced by Fuel, the auditorium is converted into the pitch black planetarium.
Both productions sold out before their original runs opened.
Meanwhile, casting has been announced for the new version of A Doll’s House which opens in July. Nora will be played by Hattie Morahan who played Elinor in the BBC’s adaptation of Sense and Sensibility and was recently on stage up the road at the Old Vic in Tom Stoppard‘s The Real Thing. Nora’s husband Torvald will be played by Dominic Rowan who appeared in the Olivier Award-nominated The Village Bike at The Royal Court.
Simon Stephens (Punk Rock) will adapt Henrik Ibsen’s classic tale and Young Vic associate director Carrie Cracknell will direct. Ian MacNeil (Billy Elliot The Musical, Vernon God Little)will design with costumes by Gabrielle Dalton, sound by David McSeveney and light by Guy Hoare.
A Doll’s House runs from 9th July 2012 to 26 July 2012 with previews from 29th June
The Changeling runs 26 November 2012 to 15 December 2012 with previews from 26 November 2012.
Going Dark runs 7 December – 22 December 2012 with previews from 4 December 2012.
