Described as “an extraordinarily gifted chameleon actress”, Denise Gough’s reputation precedes her. Synonymous with an unyielding dedication to the craft of acting, after decades of hard work, Denise Gough became a UK theatre “sensation” following her 2015 Olivier-winning performance in Duncan Macmillan’s People, Places & Things. As arguably one of the UK’s most prolific and respected actresses, we are delighted to announce Denise Gough as the first guest for the second series of The Actors Centre Meets. In addition to her critically acclaimed performance in People, Places & Things for which she also won an Obie Award, Denise Gough received her second Olivier Award for her portrayal of Harper Pitt in Tony Kushner’s Angels in America; a performance which transferred to Broadway and also garnered her a Tony Award nomination. Following her professional debut in Robbers at our Tristan Bates Theatre nearly twenty years ago, Denise Gough joins The Actors Centre Meets on 9 March to chat through her remarkable career.
