Extension announced for Sheffield Show Boat

A one week extension has been announced for Sheffield Theatre's production of the classic musical Show Boat.
Directed by Daniel Evans, the show will now run from 16 December 2015 to 23 January 2016 at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
The cast includes Michael Xavier as Gaylord Ravenal, Gina Beck as Magnolia Hawks, Lucy Briers as Parthenia Hawks, Allan Corduner as Captain Andy Hawks, Emmanuel Kojo as Joe, Sandra Marvin as Queenie, and Rebecca Trehearn as Julie La Verne.
Daniel Evans said today: "We are delighted that Show Boat has proved itself to be so popular with our audiences. We're lucky to have the most wonderful cast and creative team and I know we're all looking forward to bringing it to life on the Crucible Stage at Christmas."
The epic musical, which features music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, follows the lives and loves of three generations aboard a show boat as it plies the Mississippi River.
The score features classics including "Make Believe", "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" and "Ol' Man River".
