Beverley Knight, Le Gateau Chocolat, dressed and more announced in Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2019

The full programme has been unveiled for the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2019.
Alongside the previously announced acts are a number of new additions to the programme. Filmed in front of an audience will be Andy Field and Beckie Darlington's News New News, a news show made for adults by children (from Norwich Primary Academy) which will be broadcast live. Theatre company Curious will present a garden tour called Wild Longings around The Plantation Garden, while Hannah Jane Walker's Highly Sensitive uses games and poetry to investigate toughness and weakness.
Award-winning company ThisEgg and Made My Wardrobe will present their Edinburgh Fringe hit show dressed., while Dante or Die will bring its smartphone-orientated show User Not Found to the Festival. Lords of Strut return withanarchic family show Absolute Legends, while Gandini Juggling will present Smashed. Magician Vincent Gambini will perform his deadpan magic show The Chore of Enchantment
In the Adnams Spiegeltent, there will be a variety of circus and cabaret performances from artists including Le Gateau Chocolat, Jonny Woo, The Turbans and the Renegade Brass Band.
The Festival will once again present a series of free and ticketed events around the streets of Norwich and beyond. The central event will be a daring high-wire walk across the Norwich city centre called The Journey accompanied by a live soundscape. Ray Lee will also present a sonic tour of Norwich called Congregation.
Musicians performing include Beverley Knight (who recently appeared in new musical Sylvia), saxophonist Jess Gillam, twice-Mercury-nominated Eliza Carthy and Indian guitar master Debashish Bhattacharya.
Festival director Daniel Brine said: "The 2019 Festival will be my second as Festival director and my first full programme. As I get to know the rich cultural heritage of the city and county better from the people living here, I am also mindful of fast-paced changes occurring on a global scale, our relationship to the rest of the UK, Europe and further abroad."
The festival runs for 17 days across May.
