Guests headed over the Old Vic last night to celebrate the opening night and launch of Wise Children, the new show by Emma Rice for her company Wise Children, based on the novel Wise Children by Angela Carter.

Stars including Beverley Knight, Genesis Lynea (both of whom starred in the venue's recent production of Sylvia) and Anna Maxwell Martin were present on the night, joining the cast after the show to celebrate the performance.

The piece is set in a Brixton house and follows two twins, Nora and Dora, as they remember their lives and prepare for their natural father's 100th birthday. It features design by Vicki Mortimer, puppetry from Lyndie Wright, lighting from Malcolm Rippeth and sound and video from Simon Baker.

Following the run at the Old Vic, Wise Children will tour to Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Manchester, York, Chester and Coventry.
