Vanessa Redgrave, Katherine Parkinson, Janie Dee and Clémence Poésy join Theatre Royal Bath summer season

Casting and new productions have been announced for Theatre Royal Bath's summer season in the theatre's main space and adjacent Ustinov Studio.

Cast joining Rupert Everett in his production of Uncle Vanya has been announced. Katherine Parkinson
(Home, I'm Darling), Clémence Poésy (In Bruges), Ann Mitchell (Widows), John Light (Mary Stuart), John Standing (The First Churchills) and Marty Cruickshank (Call the Midwife) will all appear in the piece, which runs from 18 July to 3 August.

Vanessa Redgrave will perform at the venue in her own production Vienna 1934 – Munch 1938, A Family Album from 11 July to 3 August. Joined onstage by Robert Boulter and Paul Hilton (both of whom starred in Olivier Award-winning The Inheritance), the piece is based on Redgrave's father Michael and his correspondences with poet Stephen Spender and German writer Thomas Mann.

Cast joining Jennifer Saunders in a new revival of Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit has also been revealed. Directed by Richard Eyre with design by Anthony Ward and lighting by Howard Harrison, Lisa Dillon, Emma Naomi, Geoffrey Streatfeild, Simon Coates, Lucy Robinson and Rose Wardlaw will all appear alongside Saunders. The play runs from 14 June to 6 July.

Casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike in the Ustinov Studio. Janie Dee, Michelle Asante, Aysha Kala and Lewis Reeves will play the four roles in the Tony Award-winning play, which is directed by Walter Bobbie. It runs from 6 June to 6 July.

Other shows in the season include a pre-West End run for The Man in the White Suit starring Stephen Mangan and Kara Tointon, The Life I Lead starring Miles Jupp and David Edgar in Trying It On.
