A new tour of The Full Monty will open in Bournemouth this year.
Simon Beaufoy's stage adaptation of his film won the UK Theatre Award for Best Touring Production in 2013. The production will star Gary Lucy (EastEnders, The Bill, Hollyoaks) as well as Joe Absolom (EastEnders, Doc Martin), Andrew Dunn (Dinnerladies), Louis Emerick (Brookside), Chris Fountain (Hollyoaks) and Kai Owen (Torchwood).
The play looks at six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers who become male strippers. The production features songs by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
Jack Ryder directs the piece, which has design from Robert Jones and choreography by Ian West. The show opens in Bournemouth from 21 to 24 September and then tours the UK visiting Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Inverness, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Northampton, Cambridge, Belfast, Shrewsbury, Dartford, Canterbury, Glasgow, Leicester, Bradford and Sheffield.
