Liverpool’s well-established Tmesis Theatre are bringing their first one woman show to the city.
Wolf Red is set deep in the dark woods, where a woman is held prisoner. But is her sinister captor a predator of the body or her mind? Fairytale and reality blur in Wolf Red, a quirky and memorable production which explores the dark side of human nature.
Combining acclaimed physical theatre company Tmesis Theatre (Elinor Randle will perform the piece and Yorgos Karamalegos will direct) with new writing from North West playwright Chris Fittock. Wolf Red is described as a menacing and entertaining piece that explores one woman’s sinister, evocative and playful journey into the dark side of human nature.
Following a series of workshops with local writers in 2007, Tmesis Theatre worked with Chris Fittock for two weeks on a short piece, which experimented with different styles of text and movement.
Tmesis Theatre’s fifth production follows successful European tours of Tmesis, Memento Mori, and Anima, their trilogy on life’s journey and The Dreadful Hours.
The set design is by Liverpool designer Lois Maskell and lighting by Arek Chrusiel.
Wolf Red is at the Unity in Liverpool from 26 – 29 September.
