Three shows will head to venues across the UK this year

Exclusive: Theatre Royal Windsor has announced a new touring initiative for 2026, with three productions originating at the venue and visiting theatres across the UK under the banner of the “Theatre Royal Windsor Season on Tour.”
The programme will include The Marquise by Noël Coward from May, Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene from July, and the return of Royce Ryton’s The Anastasia File from September.
The Marquise will open at Theatre Royal Windsor from 27 May to 6 June 2026 before touring to Oxford Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, with further venues to be announced.
Coward’s comedy centres on a widowed Count attempting to arrange a marriage between his daughter and the son of his best friend, despite both young people having other attachments.
The production is directed by Philip Wilson, with set and costume design by Colin Falconer and lighting design by Nick Richings. Casting is to be confirmed.
Clive Francis’s stage adaptation of Graham Greene’s Our Man in Havana will run at Theatre Royal Windsor from 1 to 11 July 2026, ahead of a tour including Salisbury Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford and Cheltenham Everyman, with additional dates to be announced.
The play follows James Wormold, a vacuum cleaner salesman in Havana who is recruited by MI6 and invents a network of agents and intelligence reports, which are taken seriously by his superiors.

The production is also directed by Wilson, with set and costume design by Julie Godfrey, lighting design by Richings and sound design by Andy Graham. Casting will be announced.
The Anastasia File will return to Theatre Royal Windsor from 30 September to 3 October 2026 before touring to Salisbury Playhouse, Malvern Theatres and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, with further venues to follow.
The play examines the claims of a young woman who believes she may be the surviving Grand Duchess Anastasia. The production is directed by Roy Marsden and features returning cast members Jenny Seagrove, Simon Shepherd, Ashley D Gayle and Rosie Thomson, with sound design by Dan Samson.
Anne-Marie Woodley, theatre director and head of venues for Bill Kenwright Ltd, said that the initiative “marks an exciting new chapter” for the organisation, which has spent a number of years developing new plays and productions at its Windsor home.
