It may have celebrated thirty years since it's UK premiere last month, but theatre audiences are showing no sign of tiring of Boublil and Schönberg's legendary musical.

7. Sondheim: Hey, Old Friends!

It may have only been on for one night but Stephen Sondheim proved as popular as ever as tickets for the gala in honour of his 85th Birthday flew out the door.

Martin McDonagh's play, his first in London since The Pillowman in 2003, opened to rave reviews at the Royal Court and has subsequently announced a West End transfer.

Theatregoers across the UK have been galloping to the box office for a final chance to see the National Theatre production of War Horse, following the news that the adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book will close in March next year.

3. Sunset Boulevard

It's 1993, Glenn Close has just won the Tony Award for her performance in Sunset Boulevard. Fast forward 22 years and she's about to make her London stage debut in the same role. Understandably, people are excited.
